Junior Coaching at Gog Magog

Please find below a range of Junior Coaching activities we offer for at Gog Magog. All the sessions below are open to non-members and members of the Club. Booking is essential for all sessions - please contact me if you would like to check availability.

Our aim is to provide opportunities so all junior golfers, regardless of gender or ability, feel included in access to junior golf. So, please do let me know if you have any questions at all and I will do my best to help.

Happy golfing!

Sign-Up Process

In an effort to improve the sign-up process, we will now be including online booking for many group sessions. If you do not have a golfsthegame.com account, i.e., if you (the child) have not had individual coaching with our current professional team, you will need to create an account first. For clarity and administration accuracy, the child needs to have an account to book sessions, please, parents, do not use your golfsthegame account to book them in.

To create an account for golfsthegame, simply contact tomrogers@gogmagog.co.uk and wait for a confirmation email (within 24 hours).

We hope once you are logged in to our system it will ease the process of signing up for group lessons with benefits such as fewer emails and the ability to see dates and group availability for specific sessions.

Should you encounter any difficulties in booking in, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Saturday Group Sessions

Our most popular junior groups sessions will again take place on Saturday mornings during term time. These sessions will be based on the practice ground and will cover all the skills needed to develop as a young golfer from putting to short game to full swing. The full range of junior golfer will be invited to participate, with three groups on offer across the morning:

9-10am - “Young and New Golfers”, ages up to 8 with under a year’s golf experience

Ideal for: Those looking to receive an introduction to the sport in an encouraging group environment, with having fun a vital part of the sessions

10-11am - “Developing Skills and Improving”, Ages 8-12 with over a year’s golf experience

Ideal for: those already familiar with the basics, looking to continue their development in the game and make friendships

11am-12pm - “Juniors Reducing Their Scores”, Ages 12 and older who are playing on-course

Ideal for: Those with on-course experience or a handicap seeking to progress their skills, incorporating some light competition whilst still enjoying a supportive group setting

Please note, these age bands are guidelines; juniors are likely to benefit most from the sessions that are suited to their ability level. However, we appreciate many have busy lives and are trying to fit golf coaching in around other activities, so there can be some flexibility on which session a child is signed up for. Please do send an email if you have any questions about which group might best suit or about placing a child in general.

We hope these sessions can continue to act as a pathway for those progressing from new to the game to experienced club golfers, and therefore all sessions are open to non-members as well as junior members of the Club
